Bristol holding fun with old books contest

Catching Fire Trivia

Test your knowledge of Catching Fire and win a chance to see the film with other library teens on opening day Friday. Visit the display in the GPL Teen area, complete the trivia page, and turn it in for your chance to win. Six lucky winners will be drawn on Wednesday. This contest is open to teens in grades 6 through 12 only.

Storytime Express

Storytime Express sessions are set for Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Stories and a craft activity about Thanksgiving are featured this week. This program is free and recommended for ages 2-5.

Book party

A “Magic Tree House Book Party! Christmas in Camelot” gathering is set for Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Activities, trivia, and snacks inspired by the Magic Tree House series will be offered. Register at the Children’s desk or by calling 537-0241.

‘After School is Cool’

The next “After School is Cool” program is set for Tuesday at 3:30 pm. The craft activity will involve making “leaves” from tissue paper, and snacks will be provided. On Nov. 26, youngsters can learn how to make Thanksgiving place mats and play holiday word puzzles.

“After School is Cool” is designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Nutrition Program

Joan Younce from the Kosciusko County Purdue Extension will be presenting “Simple Holiday Concoctions” on Nov. 25 at 6:30 pm. Samples and recipes are available for all who attend. If you are planning on entertaining family and friends this holiday season, you shouldn’t miss this informative program! Sign-up at the Adult desk beginning today. Invite a friend. There will be door prizes.

Story Time

Preschool Story Time sessions are set for Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Youngsters can listen to “Cooking with Henry and Ellie Belly” by Caroline Park Hurst and other stories about children cooking. Attendees will share their favorite recipes, prepare and make an apron to protect their clothing during future cooking projects. A cookbook with all the children’s favorite recipes will be available at the Thanksgiving Feast.
