Fall programs

Openings are still available for the library’s Babies and Books, Toddler Time, Story Time and Home School Club fall programs. Call or stop by the library to register. See the Kids homepage on the library website for program details.

Authors at library

New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray and author of Amish-themed fiction Vannetta Chapman will give readings from their latest books Wednesday at 7 p.m. Copies of their books will be available for purchase.

Book discussion

The theme this fall of the “Let’s Talk About It” book discussion series is “Muslim Journeys: Connected Histories.”  The first featured book will be “When Asia Was the World” by Stewart Gordon. Steven Gerencser of Indiana University — South Bend will present the lecture Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. Patrons are invited to stop by the library to register and pick up the first book. Computer class

A beginning computer class is set at the library Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Library board

The Wakarusa Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7:45 a.m. Friday. The meeting will include a public hearing on the proposed 2014 library budget.

Lego Club

The next meeting of the Nappanee Public Library Lego Club is scheduled for Sept. 19.  

Children ages 5 and older are invited to participate the third Thursday of every month at the library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This month’s building challenge is “School Daze.”

No registration is required, and parents are invited to stay and participate. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials will be provided.
