GOSHEN — A Goshen man was killed in a crash four miles west of Goshen Monday.

Dead is Ammon Imhoff, 51.

The collision occurred at 5:33 p.m. on Ind. 119 near C.R. 40. Elkhart County police said Shirley N. Leyva-Diaz, 52, Goshen, was driving northeast on Ind. 119 in a 2005 Nissan Quest. The Nissan collided with the rear of horse-drawn farm equipment operated by Imhoff.

Imhoff was ejected, and later pronounced dead at the scene. Leyva-Diaz suffered chest pain as a result of the crash and was transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment.

Emergency dispatchers said that Medflight air ambulance was called to the scene, and the crew made it about halfway there from their base at South Bend Memorial Hospital. However, weather conditions changed and the helicopter was flown back to the hospital.
