Historical Museum fund-raiser Dec. 5, 6

BRISTOL, Ind. — Tickets are on sale for the fifth-annual Crystal Ball holiday dinner and dance at the Elkhart County Historical Museum in Bristol.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 5 and 6 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. each day. This is the Elkhart County Historical Society’s premier fund-raiser, with all proceeds benefiting museum improvements.

The event will begin with museum tours to highlight new acquisitions and the 2008 event schedule. Dinner will be catered by Das Dutchman Essenhaus of Middlebury and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. A selection of wines will be served under candlelight in the auditorium, which will be decorated with lights and holiday trimming. Museum supporters and businesses throughout Michiana have donated items and entertainment packages for a silent auction table.

After dinner there will be dancing on Friday with the Eddie Knight Band. On Saturday night, the Ed Bagantini Newswing Orchestra will set the tone for an evening of ballroom dancing.

Tickets are $40 per person for this event co-sponsored by Elkhart County Historical Society and the Elkhart County Parks Department. Tickets can be purchased at the museum at 304 W. Vistula St. in Bristol or the Elkhart County Parks Department at 211 W. Lincoln Ave., Goshen. For ticket order forms, call 848-4322. An order form is also available online at elkhartcountyparks.org/ballroomdancedinner.htm. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 1.

The museum’s regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. There is no charge for admission, but donations are accepted. For more information, call the museum at 848-4322. The museum is located at 304 W. Vistula (Ind. 120) in Bristol.
