Two people were killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at 2:19 p.m. Sunday south of Elkhart.
According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Ricardo A. Velasquez, 24, 30983 Riverbend Circle, Apt. 6, was operating a 2008 Kawasaki 600 east on C.R. 24, west of Concord Valley Drive, when the machine went off the south side of the road and the passengers were ejected.
Velasquez and his passenger, Amanda Jones, 26, Osceola, both died at Elkhart General Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
The incident is under investigation by the sheriff’s department crash investigation team. Damage was estimated at more than $5,000.
