Congregation chooses human sundae

THE GOSHEN NEWS

The “Sunday Sundae Fund-raiser” was concluded on Father’s Day at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren with a member of the Tijuana Mission Team, Pam Kirkdorffer, being made into an ice cream sundae.

Ice cream buckets with team member’s pictures were placed in the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren foyer to “vote” for a sundae person. Each penny counted as one vote.

The team raised other money by sending out letters, a haystack supper and a Golf “Fore” Missions Outing. Sponsors for the golf outing were Brookview Farms, Morehouse Grain and Lime and Superior Diesel, all of New Paris. Prize donations were made by Applebee’s, Goshen; Bobick’s Golf, Fort Wayne, Dairy Queen, Lincolnway East, Dairy Queen Syracuse, Hacienda, Goshen, Hoover Massage, Syracuse, Pete’s Fabulous Fish, Syracuse, Raccoon Run Golf Course, Warsaw, The Crossing Cafe, Goshen, The Hair Loft, New Paris.

The team left for Tijuana on June 20th. The mission trip is in coordination with Companeros Ministerios in Indianapolis. Maple Grove Church of the Brethren is located at 20430 C.R. 46, New Paris. Another mission team will be going to Navajoland in October.
