Goshen man killed in car crash

A 24-year-old Goshen man was killed in a single-car crash on C.R. 36, east of C.R. 15 Tuesday just before 11 p.m.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a 2006 Ford Mustang driven by James K. Scott, was westbound on C.R. 36 when his vehicle left the roadway on the north side and went into a ditch. Police said the vehicle then left the ditch and landed approximately 100 feet to the northwest.
Police said Scott was thrown from his vehicle and he struck a parked truck approximately 300 feet to the west.
A passenger in Scott’s vehicle, Bethany L. Curton, 17, also from Goshen, suffered internal and head injuries and was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Scott was pronounced dead due to blunt force trauma.
