Elkhart County 4-H members gave speeches and presented their demonstrations in the Elkhart County 4-H Public Speaking and Demonstration Contest Tuesday at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds.

The young speakers performed before an audience of parents, 4-H leaders and members, and contest judges. Eight 4-H clubs were represented.

Public speaking contest participants were: Natalie Evans, Spencer Culp and Robin Bortner. This year’s theme was “Mastering Life Skills Through 4-H.”

Robin Bortner of the Dairy Feeder Calf 4-H Club was named grand champion of the Public Speaking Contest. Her speech was titled “Facing Romeo.” Robin received a traveling trophy for her division.
