LAGRANGE — A Noble County councilman who is also a Rome City bail bondsman surrendered to LaGrange County authorities Friday after an arrest warrant was issued last week charging him with residential entry, a Class D felony, and battery, a Class B misdemeanor, after an incident at a rural home March 1.
Arrested was Lester E. Alligood, 71, Rome City.
According to a report by the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, officers were called to a home in Northview Estates in Van Buren Township on March 1 after a representative of a bonding agency had entered a home looking for a wanted person.
Police said Alligood allegedly entered the home after being told Dwight Mullins, who he was seeking, was not there.
Alligood reportedly pushed past the woman and entered the home.
Alligood turned himself in Friday.
