Three arrested on charges not related to homicide

LAGRANGE, Ind. — Three LaGrange County residents were arrested for drug charges on Tuesday morning at the site of what police said was an unrelated 2005 double homicide near Mongo.

The Northeast Indiana SWAT Team executed a search and arrest warrant service on Tuesday morning at the residence of Amanda Anderson and Robert Lee White, 6270 E. 250 North, LaGrange.

The investigation began when detectives from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police receieved tips of illegal drug activity and the illegal possession of firearms.

On Feb. 15, LaGrange County detectives said they discovered that Robert White was a convicted felon from a dealing cocaine charge in St. Joseph County, Mich., in 1991. Detectives then applied for and receieved a warrent from Superior Court Judge George Brown. During the search officers allegedly recovered eight firearms, including two handguns. They also allegedly recovered items consistent with the manufacture and use of methamphetamine.

The three suspects are Robert Lee White, 36, Amanda E. Anderson, 22, and Randy LaMar Waite, 49.

White’s charges include serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, manufacturing methamphetamine, B felony, possession of stolen property, D felony, maintaining a common nuisance, D felony, and possession of paraphernalia.

Anderson’s charges include manufacturing methamphetamine, B felony, maintaining a common nuisance, Class D felony, possession of stolen property, D felony, and posession of paraphernalia.

Waite’s charges include manufacturing methamphetamine, B felony, maintaining a common nuisance, D felony, theft, D felony, and possession of paraphernalia.

All suspects were reported to reside at the 6270 E. 250 N. LaGrange residence.

Amanda Anderson is the daughter of Terry and Darleen Anderson, who were both murdered at the same residence in 2005.

Various weapons were stolen from the residence at that time, as well as collector coins.

The weapons discovered at the residence on Tuesday were not related.

Lieutenant Detective Tad Oakley of the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department said that the double homicide is still an open case and being investigated.

“It’s still an open case,” he said, “we’re still working on it. There are no arrests at this time.”
