Volunteers from the LaGrange County Genealogy Society are available in the Genealogy Department the first Wednesday of each month to help the public with family history questions and challenges.
iPad Discussion Group
Patrons can take their iPad Oct. 8 and join a group that shares tips, tricks and favorite apps. Walk-ins are welcome.
Neal Brandon Parks will sign copies of his book “Battle of Grace” from 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 12.
The Second Saturday Book Club will meet Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at Emma Cafe, the corner of 600 West and 200 South. The book club is open to any anyone 16 or older. This month’s discussion will be on “The Housekeeper and the Professor” by Yoko Ogawa.
Guy Thompson will lead a photography class at the library Oct. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Patrons will learn how to get the most out of the camera they own. This is for beginning and intermediate photographers with point-and-shoot or digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras who want to take better photos. Book talk and signing
Brian Hartz and Tom Gratz will host a talk and book signing of “Harley C.I.: A Detective Story” Oct. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. Veteran journalist Hartz writes the story as told by retired Lt. Tom Gratz, who helped bring down the Wells Street Gang of robbers with the help of “Harley,” an ex-con turned undercover informant.
Patrons who would like to learn the basics of knitting can visit the library Oct. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. Registration is due by Oct. 19. The $5 fee provides all supplies for creating a mug cozy. Register at the reference desk or call 260-463-2841, ext. 1030.
