Council to conduct special meeting
The Bristol Town Council will have a special meeting Friday at 3 p.m. at Bristol Town Hall, 303 E. Vistula St. At the special meeting, the council will have reading for an ordinance, according to Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Jill Swartz.
New museum exhibit on Soap Box Derby
The Old Jail Museum will host a Soap Box Derby exhibit of memorabilia from the first race in 1938 to the last race in 1963. The exhibit will continue through September and will feature race cars, trophies, helmets, photos and information on the racers and races.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Old Jail Museum is located at 121 N. Indiana St., Warsaw. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VFW memorial service Thursday
A memorial service for deceased members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is set to take place Thursday at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the service.
On Wednesday, wings and sandwiches will be available from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A broasted pork chop dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. with the weekly drawing at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesdays are euchre nights at the VFW. All who would like to play are invited to gather at the Post at 7 p.m. for a euchre party.

Annual meeting of Historical Society Thursday
Members of the Goshen Historical Society will gather Thursday for their annual meeting, dinner and presentation of the Historian of the Year Award. The event will take place at Bread & Chocolate at the Old Bag Factory, 1100 N. Chicago Ave. in Goshen.
