Locals begin one-year mission

Five Goshen-area residents have signed up for a year of service with the Mennonite Mission Network.
Jared Christophel, Goshen, began a one-year term with Service Adventure in August 2009 in Philippi, W.Va.
A graduate of Bethany Christian High School in Goshen, Christophel is the son of Lori and Randal Christophel and attends Silverwood Mennonite Church in Goshen.
Christina Histand, Goshen, began a one-year term of Mennonite Voluntary Service in August in Kansas City, Kan., as a project volunteer with the Migrant Farmworker’s Project.
A 2009 graduate of Goshen College, Histand is the daughter of Linda and James Histand and is a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Elkhart.
Sam Jacobs, Goshen, began a one-year term with Service Adventure in August 2009 in Albuquerque, N.M.
A graduate of Goshen High School, Jacobs is the son of Rachel and Randall Jacobs and attends Kern Road Mennonite Fellowship in South Bend.
Annamarie Lehman, Goshen, began a one-year term of Mennonite Voluntary Service in August in Hutchinson, Kan., as a secretary with Interfaith Housing Services Inc.
A 2009 graduate of Bluffton (Ohio) University, Lehman is the daughter of Kathleen Stamper and Randall Lehman and is a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church in Goshen.
Benjamin Martin, Wakarusa, began a one-year term of Mennonite Voluntary Service in August in Madison, Wis., as a community builder with Options Madison.
A 2009 graduate of Goshen College, Martin is the son of Susan and Michel Martin and is a member of Olive Mennonite Church in Elkhart.
