Bureau of Motor Vehicles food drive ends Saturday

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) food drive that has collected more than 10,000 items for Hoosiers impacted by the flooding and severe weather will end Saturday.

People are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to any license branch through Saturday until branches close at 12:30 p.m.

Operation Hoosier Relief began on June 16 when collection boxes provided by Waste Management of Indiana were placed in all 140 BMV license branches and the State Government Center in Indianapolis. BMV staff is working with the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to distribute the collected items through local food banks and other relief agencies.
