Eagle’s Wing receives $13,500 donation

— The 2008 Goshen Fire Department Flames and Dames Ball, held April 26 at the Spohn Ballroom in Goshen, raised $13,500 for a non-profit organization that aids emergency workers and victims at disaster scenes.
The Eagle’s Wing Mobile Rehab unit was the dream of Don French. It is manned by French and other volunteers 24-7, who take the unit to disaster scenes to provide drinks and nutritional snacks and a place to recover from the stress of crises situations for both emergency workers and victims.
The money raised at the ball exceeded the $10,000 goal set by the planning committee, according to event co-chairwomen Laura Kauffman and Shelly Steury.
The evening featured a buffet dinner from Pumpernickle’s Catering, live music from Gretchen’s Revenge and a silent auction.
The platinum level sponsors for the event were Goshen Professional Firefighters Local 1443, Goshen Health System and Keystone RV Co.
