We don’t need a community center

— We want to keep this short and to the point. We keep reading articles and letters in the papers about the proposed community center in Goshen. Our question is why? Everyone we have talked to says this is the wrong time and the residents don’t want it, don’t need it and can’t afford it. The center would also be in competition with several fitness centers already in Goshen.

It has been said that about 7 percent of our citizens would join the center. Everyone who pays property taxes would be paying for it.

The school corporation can do whatever it needs to do, but at this time in Goshen our residents don’t want to sign up for 20 years or more of paying for a community center we don’t need.
