It’s too bad that the Nappanee and Wakarusa communities can’t support the (NorthWood) high school Red Regiment Marching Band at competitions and fund raisers. If not for the teaches, band parents and grandparent there wouldn’t be much for support.
These kids work their butts off from summer band camp — which is anywhere from 8 to 10 hours a day — to after school practice for another 3 to 4 hours a day. Then the kids come home to do homework and/or chores.
The Red Regiment is a state-caliber performing band. They were sixth in the state (Class B) last year. This is quite an accomplishment and how much recognition did these instructors and kids get?
These kids work as hard, probably harder, than any athletic team. Let’s show a little support. These kids deserve it.
