We would like to contribute some information concerning the front page article published on Saturday, May 18, in The Goshen News.
About the robbery, occurring in our home the night of Nov. 12, 2008. Devon Miller was the first to enter, holding us at gunpoint. Jesse Miller entered later, as the robbery proceeded, but did not participate. Jesse had no weapon, made no threats and did no damage.
Both brothers returned on Sept. 28, 2010, and confessed to the robbery in 2008. Restitution has been made, per Jesse, for the damage done at that time by Devon Miller.
The brothers grew up in this area, but were never in our care, as stated in Saturday’s (May 18) paper.
We thank the community for support and prayers in this situation, and praise God for his protection and emotional healing.
— Howard and Lillian Miller
Editor’s note: The information regarding the brothers being in the care of Howard and Lillian Miller was taken from a probable cause affidavit filed in Elkhart Circuit Court. In that affidavit, Elkhart County police outline evidence connecting Jesse Miller with the robbery.
