Loren Beachy’s recent article on a fix for society’s problems today is excellent. As Loren suggest, the fix goes back to a vital reading from St. Luke, Chapter 2, verse 10-11: “I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people. To you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour; who is the Messiah.”
One of his disciples elevates the meaning of love, a major part of the Messiah’s message, found in First Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 4 to 8.
Approximately 700 years before St. Luke’s message, the prophet Micah answers the question, “What does God require?” Micah answers in Chapter 6:8, “He has told you... and what does the Lord require of you — but to do justices, and love kindness, and love the Lord your God.”
Many people, I am sure, believe that when our society strives to do God’s will our nations problems will be reduced.
