LETTERS FOR MARCH 19: Waiting for the first stone

Goshen News

---- — In regard to letter to the editor, “Homosexuality is fornication” (The Goshen News, March 15):

John 8:1-7 — The good news translation.

The Woman Caught in Adultery — 1) Then everyone went home, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2) Early the next morning he went back to the temple. All the people gathered around him, and he sat down and began to teach them. 3) The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees brought in a woman who had been caught committing adultery, and they made her stand before them all. 4) “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. 5) In our Law Moses commanded that such a woman must be stoned to death. Now, what do you say?” 6) They said this to trap Jesus, so that they could accuse him. But he bent over and wrote on the ground with his finger. 7) As they stood there asking him questions, he straightened up and said to them, “Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone at her.”

Be the hands and feet of Jesus

I believe you are seeing God’s powerful hand moving across our nation before your very eyes. The Holy Spirit has given me Psalm 93 shortly before a disaster strikes in the world. He is reminding us that he is majestic and armed with strength. He alone is God, revealing his power from his heavenly throne. Hie is tired of our idolatry.

The Holy Spirit reveals in Psalm 96 we are to praise the Lord through all our storms and trials of life.

We have increased as a nation toward humanistic values, ignoring our almighty God. Yet, he consistently pours out his mercy and grace when we truly repent from our sinful ways. He wants to awaken his chosen people for a great revival. He wants us to see he is stronger than any dictator in any government. Let’s give him the glory and honor he richly deserves.

In Isaiah 55:10 God reminds us as the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay on the ground to water the earth, they cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmers and food for the hungry.

God says it is the same with my word. I send it out and if produces fruit, in other words, where there is drought, there is the lack of understanding of the word.

Lets make a goal for this year to encourage one another to praise the Lord and to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to go out into all the world and share the good news that Jesus saves.
