Once again man’s law and God’s law are on a collision course. How should we react when this situation arises? There are three possible routes to take.
First, you can choose man’s law. Second, you can choose God’s law. Third, you can choose a neutral ground and simply not make a choice. But, I warn you that with God, that last choice is a against God.
Do you honestly think God has gone soft on certain sins because they have become more acceptable to our society — sins including adultery, living together outside of marriage, abortion, homosexuality and promiscuity? If you do such things or only approve of them, you deserve to die (Romans 1:32).
My concern today is homosexuality and the bill before the Indiana legislature for an amendment to the state Constitution outlawing same-sex unions. There is tremendous pressure on society to accept homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle. If it doesn’t affect you, why worry about it. We are encouraged to neither accept or disapprove.
If the bill in its original form would have stood unchanged, the people of Indiana would have had a referendum to vote for or against. (The Senate has since approved the new language, and the matter will have to go before another legislature in 2016 if it is to move forward — Editor.)
I hope the people of Indiana one day are given the chance to vote on this. It does not matter whether it is passed or rejected to God. What governments and people do has little affect on God’s purpose. What interests God is your use of the freewill he has given you. We have one purpose in life, which is to glorify God. ...
Sooner or later you will have to make one of those three choices. Choose wisely, whether on the ballot some day, or in your heart and mind now. Your salvation may be at state.
