LETTERS FOR DEC. 13, 2013: Abortion a travesty of times

Goshen News

---- — On Sunday, Dec. 8, The Goshen News printed an article entitled “Abortion doctor facing complaint.” The article was about a doctor who is being questioned by the Indiana Medical Licensing Board. It stated that Dr. Ulrich Kopler found it “amazing” that a paperwork error could jeopardize his license. He was also noted as stating that “he’s never lost a patient.”

What I find amazing is that he is being called before the board for a paperwork error and not for killing babies.

How could he possibly say that he has never lost a patient when he loses (kills) at least one patient every time he performs an abortion?

Our society is indeed in very sad shape when we penalize paperwork errors and allow the killing of millions of innocent babies.

Many years ago a king tried to kill baby Jesus, and in so doing killed many other babies.

We think we have progressed so much in the past 2,000 years, but here we are in 2013 still allowing doctors to murder innocent babies.

As we celebrate the Christ Child this season, I pray we ask God’s forgiveness for this terrible atrocity.

Merry Christmas from a nurse at New Eden Birth Center, where we celebrate the miracle of every birth.

It’s time for Rep. Walorski to get serious

The unnecessary manufactured crisis is over, but is another coming in January? I would like to thank U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski for showing her true colors — black and blue. America has suffered: $24 billion of GDP lost, plus $2 billion paid to 800,000 government workers on furlough. Democracy in the House of Representatives was suspended and “member privilege” was removed by Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in HR 368 on Oct. 1 and only Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the Majority Leader, or his designee may bring business to the floor. Walorski was one of 144 who voted to keep the government closed on Oct. 16, 2013.

Walorski and Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) were two of four women and 76 men to sign a letter forcing the Speaker to pursue no spending bill that included funding for Obamacare (ACA). Mark Meadows’ (R-N.C.) letter provided a “hard stance — even allowing the government to be shut down, if necessary — in order to stop the catastrophically unworkable and unaffordable health care law from taking effect this January.” Only about one-third of the Republican House Members have signed this letter. (See FreedomWorks.org “Have Your Members of Congress Signed. ...)

Charles Krauthammer of FOX News has called the signers of this letter by a special name. The 80 Republicans who signed this letter were mocked by their own party. The Republican Representative from News York called the signers of this letter, and a similar letter by Sen. Mark Lee (R-Utah), “kamikazes.” Fox News called the 80 the “suicide caucus.”

When will Walorski come to the table and vote on serious topics like the budget, ENDA, the Nutrition Bill, immigration reform, the American Jobs Act and deficit reduction by eliminating subsidies and tax loopholes to large corporations sponsored by Sen. Levin (D-Mich.) in the Stop Tax Havens Abuse Act?
