What makes you the more qualified candidate?
The last 32 years in this profession has allowed me to develop skills both in personnel management and engineering surveying that the current county surveyor just plain does not have. The experiences that I have had over this time period allow me to make better decisions that will lead to completing better drainage projects at less cost to the taxpayer.
What issues would you like to address if elected?
I would start by having my staff complete a total analysis of all current drainage system, comparing the amount of open and tiled drains within the system, the condition of drains, the current amount of assessment and the anticipated cost to maintain the system for the next two-, five- and 10-year periods. Second, I would formulate policy to present to the drainage board to be used to determine the order in which work is completed on the system ... My staff will be prioritizing filed drainage requests. All drainage work would be brought before the drainage board for approval before the work is completed.
