International opera star Denyce Graves will make her only Midwest appearance this year at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend in November.
Graves will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and a master class at noon Nov. 10. Both events will take place in the Campus Auditorium of Northside Hall on the IU South Bend Campus.
On Nov. 9, Denyce Graves will perform a program of arias and spirituals with accompaniment by pianist Laura Ward. Tickets for the concert are available for $10-$25.
Following the concert school officials will host a reception for audience members to meet and greet Graves. The reception will be a gathering backstage and will include hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast. Tickets for the reception are $100.
On Nov. 10, Graves will present a master class featuring select vocal students from the School of the Arts. She will work with four students over the course of two hours.
The master class is free and open to the public, however tickets are required.
Tickets for the concert Nov. 9 are available to adults for $25 and to students for $10. Tickets for the backstage reception are available to adults 21 and older for $100 each.
