“A Friend is a Friend is a Friend” is the theme for the After-School Special set for Sept. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will read, play games and have a treat. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited. Registration is required.
The Wakarusa Library Board of Trustees will meet Sept. 14 at 7:45 a.m. in the library meeting room. A public hearing on the proposed 2013 budget will be held.

During the month of September, everyone who signs up for a new library card will get their picture taken with their new card.
Library staffers will use the photos to make a customized “READ” poster that will be displayed all month in the library. Also, anyone getting a card in September will have their name entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant of their choice.
Joan Younce from the Kosciusko County Extension office will present the next nutrition program, “Farmer’s Market Meals,” Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. A sign-up sheet will be available beginning Tuesday at the adult circulation desk.
Preschool Story Time
Preschool Story Time sign-up will begin at the children’s desk on Sept. 10. Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to participate. Preschool Story Time will be on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. starting Sept. 26 or Thursday evenings at 7 starting Sept. 27. Call 658-4312 for more details.
