'Cinema Showcase' set

Starting today, “Miss Desi” will have craft kits available for families to take home and complete.

Book Club

The Book Club will meet Dec. 11 at noon. Club members are reading “A Redbird Christmas” by Fannie Flagg. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

Lego Marathon

Lego enthusiasts are invited to the library to build during the Lego Marathon Dec. 26 to 28.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytime sessions are set for today and Tuesday and Dec. 9, 10, 16 and 17. Monday sessions are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday sessions at 12:30 p.m.

Lapsit

Lapsit sessions are set for Friday and Dec. 13 and 20 at 11 a.m.

Calling All Crafters

The Calling All Crafters group is scheduled to meet Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.

Soul, Ink

The Soul, Ink writers group is scheduled to meet Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

‘Fun with Old Books’

Several project items from the library’s “Fun with Old Books” contest are up for bid. Bids can be placed through Dec. 9. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Bristol Public Library.

Story Hour

Children will hear a story about a cobbler during Story Hour Dec. 9 and 10 at 10:15 a.m. Registration is required.

‘After-School Special’

Children are invited to the library Dec. 10 at 3:30 p.m. to hear a story and enjoy activities, treats and the making of Christmas crafts. The event is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Registration is required.

Lapsit

Children and their caregivers will hear a story and do an activity during Lapsit Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. Registration is required.

Drawing

A drawing will take place Dec. 9-21 at the library. A container with beads inside will be placed at the front desk. Patrons can guess the number of beads each time they visit the library. One winner will receive a collection of six winter-themed books.

  • LIBRARY NEWS: Hypnotherapist coming to Syracuse Angie Hernandez, certified Hypnotherapist, is presenting a session on using Emotional Freedom Technique, also called tapping, on from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. People are invited to a free class to experiment with this technique for self-healing. Nick Ortner, author of The Tapping Solution, says EFT is a type of meridian tapping that combines ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Tapping utilizes the body’s energy meridian points by stimulating them with your fingertips.
