Amy LaVere to perform in Goshen Friday

GOSHEN — Americana musician Amy LaVere is set for a return performance at Ignition Music Garage, 120 E. Washington St., Goshen, Friday. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., with Lookout Mountain as the opening band.

LaVere released her first album, “This World is Not My Home” in 2005, followed by “Anchors and Anvils” in 2007. The “Stranger Me” album (2011) garnered praise from Spin Magazine, The Associated Press, NPR and The London Daily Mirror. LaVere is set to release “The Runaway’s Diary,” an album including songs about her childhood. LaVere previewed material from “Diary” when she performed at Ignition Music Garage in April of last year.

The musician has performed on the BBC’s “Later with Jools Holland” and at events including the Bonnaroo Music Festival and Austin City Limit’s Music Festival.

LaVere will be joined by guitarist Will Sexton at Friday’s show.

Tickets for the concert cost $20 and are available online at www.ignitionmusic.net. For more information, call the venue at 574-971-8282.
