Programs taking place at the Syracuse library this week include:
• Today at 2 p.m., the Silly Safaris crew will show off animals that live underground.
• Wednesday at 2 p.m., Shelly Heckert from Kosciusko County Recycling Depot will showcase edible aquifer and an environmental bingo game for teens.
An informational meeting and workshop is planned the morning of June 26. Attendees can learn how historic photos and information can be digitally preserved through the Indiana Memory Project. Information on how to seek out and add local historical records using library resources and the Internet will be presented.

Activities this week are planned as part of the Kids Summer Reading Program:
• Tuesday at 1 p.m. Middlebury Parks Department staff will give a program on “Soil Composition and Worm Farms.”
• The “Worms Alive” program will take place Thursday at 1 p.m.
Teen Spa Day
As part of the Teen Summer Reading Program, a “Spa Day” will take place today 6 to 7 p.m. Participants can make their own facial cleansers, sugar scrubs and soaps to take home. Materials will be provided.
‘Yak, Snack and Read’
The first “Yak” reading discussion group of the summer will meet Tuesday. The 1 p.m. group will be discussing Wallace Stegner’s “Angle of Repose” and the 7 p.m. group will be discussing Nevada Barr’s “Blind Descent.”
At 1 p.m. July 2, the public is invited to the library to watch the comedy “The Guilt Trip.”
