GOSHEN — Goshen College has been named Television School of the Year and Radio School of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters for the second consecutive year.

News of the two state broadcasting awards was announced Friday as part of the recent IASB College Broadcasting Competition. The college’s radio station is WGCS 91.1 The Globe and the TV station is GCTV (Goshen College Television).

“The whole department is rejoicing,” said Jason Samuel, Goshen College assistant professor of communication and general manager of The Globe.  “It’s hard to put into words the amount of work our students put into the broadcasting program, and to be recognized is extra special. It’s a remarkable achievement for us, and we’re the smallest school in the competition. It makes us feel good.”

Samuel gave credit to Duane Stoltzfus, Goshen College chairman of communication, for providing opportunities for broadcasting students to explore and grow in broadcasting during their four years of college.
