The second annual cupcake contest at the library is set for Oct. 14 from noon to 8 p.m.
All participants must fill out a registration form including a $2 donation. Participants can also donate cupcakes for the sale without entering the contest. This event is open to the public. After the judging, the cupcakes will be available for purchase.
Registration for Boys and Girls Book Clubs has begun. Boys Book Club meets Tuesdays at 5 p.m. starting Oct. 1. Girls Book Club meets Wednesdays at 5 p.m. starting Oct. 2. Both sessions last eight weeks. Registration is required. For more information, call 848-7458.
Preschool Storytime sessions have begun. Sessions take place Mondays and Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Stories, songs, crafts and games are planned, and children ages 3 to 5 are invited to participate. Registration is required
The Lapsit program has begun. Sessions take place Fridays at 11 a.m. Stories, rhymes, songs and fingerplays are planned, and children up to 3 years old are invited to participate.
Young Authors Club
Young Authors Club sessions have begun. Sessions take place Thursdays at 5 p.m. The club is designed for young authors to improve their writing skills and receive constructive criticism. Children in grades four to eight are invited to participate. Registration is required.
Teen Game Night
Teens are invited to the library Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for a night of card games, board games and video games. Young people are invited to bring their favorite games or systems to the library. All games must have an ESRB rating of Teen or below — no exceptions. Snacks will be provided. Registration is not required. Young people ages 12 to 18 are invited.
The Lego Club will meet at the library Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Young people in kindergarten through 12th grade can participate. Registration is not required and Legos are provided. For more information, call 848-7458.
Calling All Crafters

The purpose of the group is to provide constructive criticism and empathetic support to writers at all levels. Writers of all ages and working in all genres are invited.
