Sale this week
The Spring Books and Cookies Sale will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Anyone wanting to volunteer to help with the book sale, or donate cookies, can call Treva at 848-7458.
Cookies can be dropped off at the library Wednesday and throughout the duration of the sale.
Local resident Steve Mihojevich has handcrafted several whirligigs and offered two of them to The Friends of the Library to raffle off.
Raffle tickets are available. The winner will be able to choose one of 14 creations displayed in the library’s showcase. The winning ticket will be chosen Saturday, the last day of the library’s Spring Books and Cookies Sale.
Local author Rosemary McDaniel has written a book called “Murder at the Museum & Other Fruithills Suspense Stories.” She will talk about her book and be available to sign copies at the library Wednesday at 6 p.m. and Thursday, at 1 p.m.
Library staff will provide crafts all this week.
National Library Week
Library staffers will offer free coffee and doughnuts starting April 13 to celebrate National Library Week.
This month, library patrons are invited to bring their e-readers, devices or tablets to the library, where staffers can help them load eBooks.
Knitters & Crafters
The next meeting of the Knitters & Crafters Group is set for Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The Soul Ink Writers’ Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The group is designed to provide constructive criticism and empathetic support to writers at all levels. Writers of all ages and working in all genres are invited to attend.
