GOSHEN — St. Valentine’s-themed promotions are scheduled in downtown Goshen this week as part of the First Fridays festivities. The “Sweet Indulgence” event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
Other activities include a film screening at Art House Cinema, 211 S. Main St., Suite B. The documentary “Medora” will be shown. The film chronicles a high school basketball team’s struggle to win a game as the its small, southern Indiana town faces extinction. “Medora” was named one of The Washington Post’s Top 20 films of 2013.
After the screening, a question-and-answer session will take place with Ellyn Church, the film’s associate producer and an Elkhart native.
“Tunes and Tacos” will take place at Goshen City Church of the Brethren, 203 N. Fifth St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Backyard Brass, a brass ensemble featuring local musicians, will perform. For a donation, attendees can dine on “walking tacos.”
First Fridays is a monthly event designed to highlight the artistic and commercial offerings of downtown Goshen.
