THE GOSHEN NEWS

ELKHART — Local “stars” will take to the dance floor for the fourth year in a row in their own version of “Dancing with the Stars” to raise money for The Samaritan Center of Elkhart.

On Nov. 2, The Samaritan Center will host the fourth annual Still Dancing in Elkhart, a fundraising event featuring local celebrities paired with professional instructors for an evening of ballroom dance performances. Still Dancing in Elkhart will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Crystal Ballroom of the newly renovated Lerner Theater, 410 S. Main St. in Elkhart. People are encouraged to vote for their favorite dancers at www.StillDancingInElkhart.org.

This year’s event features nine couples performing for votes and special performances by That’s Dancing Studio’s dance troupe and professionals. Those who attend will enjoy the live dance competition, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and more. The 2012 Still Dancing in Elkhart celebrity dancers include Rick Burns, Babette Boling, Jay Riblet, Laura Ezzell, Chris Spataro, Patty Brotherson, Matt Eppers, Katie Nord and Jason Evers. Professional dance instructors are provided by That’s Dancing Studio and Sally Lee.

The Samaritan Center, a not-for-profit Elkhart County mental health agency, offers psychotherapy and faith-integrated counseling for individuals, couples and families. The successful Samaritan model originated in Elkhart and has led to the development of Samaritan Centers in more than 400 communities in the U.S. and Japan.
