Death at trailer park investigated


— Kosciusko County police found a deceased male at 2441 W. C.R. 250 South, Lot 34, Warsaw Sunday afternoon following a welfare check at the address.

 Police said they are interviewing someone about the death but no details were available. Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson said more information will be available following an autopsy of the body today.

Gunshots reported

Goshen police responded to the 300 block of New Street near the intersection of Wilkinson Street Saturday night after a report of gunfire.

Police said they were unable to locate any signs of gunfire while in the area. According to police, multiple neighbors advised they heard the noise.

Crash reports

• An Elkhart woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ind. 19 and C.R. 20 Saturday afternoon.

According to Elkhart County police, a 16-year-old female driving a 2006 Buick was southbound on Ind. 19 turning east onto C.R. 20 when the car collided with a 2006 Chrysler driven by Darlene Comer, 51, Elkhart.

Police say Jennifer Miller, 16, Elkhart, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital  with neck and back pain. According to police, she was cited for failure to yield right of way.

• An Elkhart woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a one-vehicle crash on Ind. 120, east of Ind. 13 Sunday morning.

According to Elkhart County police, Alexandra Zylman, 22, Elkhart, was driving a 1997 Ford pick up truck when she lost control of the vehicle, spun and ran off the north side of the road.

Zylman was ejected from the driver side door, police said. She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with back and left arm pain, police said. Elkhart County police say she was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.

Theft/burglary reports

• Goshen police responded to Meijer at 4522 Elkhart Road, to a report of a theft of an alcoholic beverage. Police said the store’s loss prevention staff had a 17-year-old male in custody when they arrived. Police arrested him on a charge of theft and released him to his mother on a promise to appear in court.

• An employee at IHOP, 2905 Ferndale Road, Goshen, reported to Goshen police someone left the restaurant without paying for their bill.

Vandalism/criminal mischief reports

• Catherine Hill, 1809 Bashor Road, told Goshen police her mailbox was knocked over and damaged during the overnight hours Friday.

• Staffers at Life Point Church, 1006 S. 16th St., Goshen, told Goshen police a window was broken at the church.

• A resident at 1006 S. 14th St. told Goshen police there was a suspicious person who appeared intoxicated walking through her yard early Sunday morning. The suspect fled before police arrived.

OWI arrests

• Justin M. Zachary, 33, 1816 Ashley Court, Goshen, was arrested at 3:16 a.m. Sunday on a charge of operating a vehicle with intoxicated following a traffic stop at the intersection of Bashor Road and Greene Road by Goshen police. According to police, Zachary also committed intimidation and was incarcerated at the Elkhart County jail.
