Man injured in Elkhart crash

— An Elkhart man and woman were injured when his vehicle struck a lighted road sign at 10:11 p.m. Monday near Elkhart. According to Elkhart County police, Nathaniel McCord, 20, Elkhart, was driving his vehicle east on Old U.S. 33, just west of C.R. 1, when he lost control of his vehicle and exited the road to the north, striking a lighted road sign at 30015 Old U.S. 20. McCord was rendered unconscious and suffered cuts to his right upper arm. A passenger in the vehicle, Jenna J. Enfield, 20, Elkhart, complained of general pain to the body as a result of the crash. Enforcement action is pending the results of a blood draw.

Battery/assaults reports

• Matthew King, 25, 804 E. Douglas St., Goshen, was arrested by Goshen police at 7:21 a.m. Sunday at his home on a charge of domestic battery. He was booked into the county jail.

• Goshen police were called to Walmart, 2304 Lincolnway E., in reference to the theft of laptop computers at 5:09 p.m. Sunday.

Theft/burglary reports

• Jennifer L. Yates, 24, 12414 C.R. 48, Syracuse, was arrested by Goshen police at 12:20 p.m. Sunday while at Walmart Supercenter, 2304 Lincolnway E., on a charge of theft. She was released on a memorandum to appear in court.

• Lippert Components, plant 4, 2475 E. Kercher Road, Goshen, reported to Goshen police that a burglary had occurred at around noon Saturday.

Vandalism/criminal mischief reports

• Debra Watson and Devonna Broadmax, both of Goshen, were arrested by Goshen police at 6:21 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Court Apartment Complex, 2932 Elkhart Road, Goshen, on charges of criminal mischief and battery. They were released on a memorandum to appear in court.

• Tommy Pinkerman, 503 Glenwood Drive, Goshen, told Goshen police someone damaged the windshield and broke out a window on the cargo door of his vehicle while parked at his residence sometime between Thursday and Monday.

Traffic arrests

• Leticia Perez, 36, 121 W. Washington St., Goshen, was arrested by Goshen police at 5:07 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Main Street, Goshen, on a charge of driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. She was released on a memorandum to appear in court.

• Carlos Cotto, 20, 309 W. Harrison, Plymouth, was arrested by Goshen police at 5:18 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of West Pike Street, Goshen, on a charge of driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was released on a memorandum to appear in court.

• Alejandro Espinoza, 40, 426 First St., Goshen, was arrested by Goshen police at 4:31 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Elkhart and Peddlers Village roads on a charge of driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was released on a memorandum to appear in court.
