— Two Goshen men were arrested on various drug-related charges at 8:57 p.m. Thursday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, the results of an on-going investigation led the Goshen Police Emergency Response Team to a residence at 1004 S. 12th St., Goshen, where a search warrant was served.

Bradley Chokey Jr., 44, of the same address, was arrested on a charge of felony possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. A second man, Jacob Wright, 20, also of the same address, was arrested on misdemeanor possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance charges. Also arrested was William Lucas, 18, of the same address, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a memorandum to appear in court. Both Chokey and Wright were booked into the county jail.

Three arrested on

gun, drug charges


An Elkhart man and two Elkhart boys were arrested on various drug- and gun-related charges early Thursday evening in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, a traffic stop was conducted near the 1700 block of Elkhart Road at 5:57 p.m. Thursday. During the stop, a handgun and marijuana were reportedly found inside the vehicle, police said, resulting in two juveniles and one adult being arrested.

The adult, Joshua Lopez, 20, 110 Brady St., Elkhart, was arrested on a charge of possession of a handgun without a license and booked into the county jail. One of the boys was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun and released to a parent. The second boy was arrested on a charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted serious violent felon. He was booked into the county jail.

Work release inmate missing

Elkhart County Community Corrections officials have reported that offender Maxine Gilmore, 48, failed to return to confinement at the corrections facility, 201 N. Cottage Ave., Goshen, at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday and is now considered absent without leave.

Theft/burglary reports

• Shelia Bouch and Michael Campanello, both of Goshen, told Goshen police they had items stolen out of their vehicles while they were parked at 901 E. Madison St. at 5:45 a.m. Thursday.

• Deandre Jacks, 18, 605 Pringle Drive, Goshen, was arrested by Goshen police at 4:13 p.m. Thursday while at Target, 3938 Midway Road, Goshen, on two counts of theft and booked into the county jail. Jacks had reportedly been connected to an earlier theft at Low Bob’s, 434 W. Pike St., Goshen, that occurred at 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

• Angelica Manriquez, Goshen, told Goshen police she noticed someone had fraudulently used her name and Social Security number at 8 a.m. Thursday.

• Anthony P. Kilmer, 117 S. Silverwood Lane, Goshen, told Goshen police he noticed two people attempting to break into his vehicle at 12:10 a.m. Friday. The two suspects then reportedly ran from the scene and left in a truck. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

• Miranda Schoemann, 316 W. Wilden Ave., Goshen, told Goshen police she had money and coins stolen from her home at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday.

• Scott Moles, 124 S. Silverwood Lane, Goshen, told Goshen police someone entered his vehicle at approximately 3 a.m. Friday and stole several items.

• Three burglaries were reported to Elkhart County police in Bristol Wednesday. Milton Burkholder, 56169 C.R. 23, Bristol, told Elkhart County police someone forced entry to his home between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday and removed jewelry, knives and ammunition. Bradley Bollman, 56097 C.R. 23, Bristol, told police someone forced entry to his home between 7:20 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. Wednesday and took cash, ammunition and jewelry. Kevin Dilks, 21107 C.R. 6, Bristol, told police someone forced entry to his home between 8:30 a.m. and 2:54 p.m. Wednesday and stole a television and a gaming system.

• Elkhart County police received notice that a stolen BMW 5451 currently listed on Craigslist had been reported stolen in South Carolina. The vehicle was located in the 60000 block of C.R. 19 and was recovered. The case remains under investigation.

Assault/battery reports

• A female teacher at Bashor Children’s Home, 62226 C.R. 15, Goshen, told Elkhart County police she was inappropriately touched by a 13-year-old male student at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Vandalism/criminal mischief reports

• Two male students reportedly engaged in fighting and one in criminal mischief at Goshen High School at 11:35 a.m. Thursday. They were arrested by Goshen police and released to their parents.
