Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash north of Millersburg early Sunday morning. One driver was subsequently arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Ind. 13 and Ind. 4 around 12:30 a.m. Elkhart County police said a 2008 Toyota Prius driven by Michael Murray, 51, Syracuse, was headed south. Police said Murray failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, and the Prius struck a westbound 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Nathan Stutzman, 19, Goshen.
Murray suffered head and chest pain as a result of the crash and was transported via ambulance to IU Health Goshen Hospital. A passenger in the Prius, Angel Murray, 50, Syracuse, suffered chest pain but signed off on medical treatment at the scene. A passenger in the Durango, Marlene Yoder, 17, Millersburg, suffered head pain but also signed off on medical treatment.
After the crash, Michael Murray was arrested on the OWI charge. In addition, he was also cited for failure to yield the right of way.
