Two killed in vehicle-train crash near Sydney


SYDNEY, Ind. — Two people were killed in Kosciusko County early today when their vehicle collided with a train.

According to the Kosciusko county Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at 4:42 a.m. in Sidney, six miles southeast of Warsaw. Police said the collision happened at the Ind. 13 rail crossing. The vehicle was struck by a Norfolk Southern freight train.

Police did not release the names of the victims because the coroner’s office is still attempting to notify their family members.
