Driver airlifted after early-morning crash

A driver was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne after sustaining lower extremity injuries in a two-vehicle collision Sunday.

The crash occurred at 2:49 a.m. at C.R. 33, north of C.R. 50 near Millersburg. According to Elkhart County police, Daniel Slone, 21, Milford, was driving a 1998 Dodge Neon and went left of center, colliding with a 2013 Suzuki SXA driven by Stanley Pender, 59, Syracuse.

Pender was transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital for complaint of right wrist and knee pain. Slone was ticketed for a learner permit violation and driving left of center.

Two hurt in two-car crash

A driver and passenger were injured in a two-car crash at U.S. 20 and C.R. 31 Sunday. The collision occurred at 11:48 a.m., according to Elkhart County police. A 2011 Ford F-250 driven by Norman Conner, 76, Parker Pa., rear ended a 2005 KIA Sport driven by Jonah Eash, 21, Syracuse, who was slowing down to turn left on C.R. 31.

Eash and his passenger, Patricia Mast, 21, LaGrange, were transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital. Eash complained of back pain and a small laceration on the head and Mast was treated for leg and back pain. Conner was ticketed for following to closely.

Theft/burglary reports

• Douglas Sellers, 614 N. Second St., Goshen, told Goshen police someone stole his Cub Cadet lawn tractor from his back yard at 5 p.m. May 7.

• Management at Best Western Motel, 900 Lincolnway East, Goshen, called for assistance with Goshen police in asking customers to leave the motel. Upon arrival, police discovered a vehicle had been taken without permission at 6:59 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was recovered shortly by Elkhart County police.

• Ryan Parsons, 808 S. Eighth St., Goshen, told Goshen police someone stole a bicycle from his front yard at 11:30 p.m. Friday.

• Ruby Snyder of Goshen told Goshen police someone stole her purse while shopping at Kroger’s, 209 Chicago Ave., Goshen. The incident occurred at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

    A package with a battery pack and a blinking red light found on the desk of an employee at MSC, 28551 Laura Court, Elkhart, caused police and firefighters to evacuate the area this morning.
    The package turned out to be a GPS tracking device and not a bomb.
