ELKHART — A jury last week found a one-time purchasing agent for Forest River guilty of theft from the company.
In December 2011, Elkhart County prosecutors charged Kristian Horn of Goshen with theft. Prosecutors said an investigation by Forest River and the Elkhart Police Department uncovered a loss of more than $86,000 after thousands of pieces of materials were fraudulently ordered, picked up, and sold to customers at the direction of Horn, Forest River Premiere Unit’s purchasing agent at the time.
According to prosecutors, Horn received around $30,000 to $40,000 in cash from multiple sales, while Forest River received nothing but invoices charging the company for all the ordered materials.
The jury trial took place Wednesday through Friday of last week in Elkhart Superior Court 5 before Judge Charles Wicks. Horn is scheduled to be sentenced May 29 at 1 p.m.
