Goshen police and fire departments are seeking the public’s help with an arson that occurred Wednesday night at Chamberlain Elementary School.
At 11:46 p.m. police and fire units were called to the school, located at 528 N. Fifth Street to a report of a dumpster fire.
The dumpster was in a fenced off area which was chained shut. Firefighters cut the chains to gain access to the area and put out the fire.
There was no damage to the school building or the playground.

Syracuse woman suffers minor injury in wreck
A Syracuse woman complained of shoulder pain and was treated at IU Goshen Health after a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon.
According to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Holly Silva, 33, Syracuse was traveling in a 2004 Suzuki XL-7 northbound on CR 31 crossing CR 44. Kevin Kruszewski, 29, South Bend was traveling west on CR 44 in a 2006 Ford F350 and according to the release failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the driver’s side of Silva’s vehicle.
Silva’s vehicle then slid off the roadways and rolled before landing upright.
Silva complained of pain to her left shoulder and was later treated and released from IU Goshen Health.
Kruszewski was cited for disregarding a stop sign.

• Martha Wenger, told Goshen police Wednesday that her white iPad mini was stolen from her residence, 205 S. 21st Street, Goshen about a month ago.
• Tyler Walls told Goshen police Wednesday that his scooter was stolen from 319 Huron Street on Tuesday around 11 p.m.
• Kyle Anthony Selking told Elkhart County police Tuesday that sometime between Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. a handgun was stolen from his vehicle at 10273 Cottage Grove Dr. in Middlebury.
