POLICE NEWS: Goshen man reports phone scam

---- — Terrance Waller, of Saybrook Drive, Goshen, told Goshen police he received a phone call from an unknown person who was representing a debt collection agency at 6:44 p.m. Friday. The person attempted to get money from Waller and no money was exchanged.

Theft/burglary reports

• Wayne Miner of Goshen reported a fraud to Goshen police Friday. The incident occurred Oct. 25, 2012.

• Stacey Smith, 1506 West Ave., Goshen, told Goshen police someone stole her wallet out of her unlocked vehicle in the overnight hours Saturday.

Drug/alcohol arrests

• Rodrigo Castillo Lopez, 18, 1604 Lane Ave., Elkhart, and two juveniles were arrested on charges of illegal consumption of an alcohol beverage by Goshen police during a traffic stop at W. Wilden Avenue and Peddlers Village Road in Goshen at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Lopez was released on a memorandum to appear in Goshen City Court and the two juveniles were released to their parents. A reported runaway juvenile out of Elkhart City was also inside the vehicle and released to her parents.
