One hurt in four-vehicle wreck

---- — One driver received injuries in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday at Ind. 120, east of C.R. 35 near Middlebury. According to Elkhart County police, the collision occurred at 2:39 p.m.

A 2008 International plow truck driven by Debra Easton, 57, Howe, was plowing snow and crossed left of the center line. Her truck collided with a 2007 Mack dump truck driven by James Geairn, 58, Elkhart. The two vehicles lost debris and began to slide. A 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Annie Kinsman, 61, Bristol, and a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Douglas Foster, 55, Bristol, were struck with debris from the collision.

Easton was transported to LaGrange Hospital for complaint of neck pain and no citations were issued.

A 38-year-old driver has a broken leg after a three-vehicle collision at Ind. 15 and U.S. 20 near Goshen Wednesday. The crash occurred at 4:25 p.m. according to Elkhart County police. Bela Koncz, 63, Harwood Heights, Ill., drove a 2004 Volvo 670 through a red light at the intersection at the intersection of Ind. 15 and U.S. 20 and collided with a 2007 Kenworth semi-truck driven by Stephen Graves, 41, Toledo, Ohio.

His semi tipped over, landing on the top of a 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Ronald Bontrager, Goshen. He was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Elkhart General Hospital. Koncz was ticketed for disregarding a traffic control device.

Theft/burglary reports

• A staff member at Bashor Alternative School, 62226 Ind. 15, Goshen, told Elkhart County police Wednesday a student grabbed her arms while trying to exit the classroom. The incident occurred at 10:02 a.m. March 6.

• Julia A. Stout, 305 Arbor Court, Goshen, told Goshen police Wednesday someone stole a cell phone. The incident occurred at 5 p.m. Feb. 20.

• Yeselia Esparza of Goshen reported being scammed via Craig’s list to Goshen police at 3 p.m. Sunday.

• Dennis Smeltzer of Bristol told Goshen police someone damaaged a door while entering an apartment he owns at 412 Johnston St., Goshen at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday. The renter was not home at the time of report and it is unknown if anyting is missing.

• An employee at Video Visions, 508 W. Lincoln Ave., Goshen, told Goshen police someone stole four DVD movies at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday.

Other incident reports

• John Battisti told Elkhart County police of hearing a gun shot and then hearing the projectile go past him at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. The incident occurred at Ind. 13 at C.R. 42 near Millersburg.

Drug/alcohol reports and arrests

• Elkhart County police responded to a call at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday about a 13-year-old male selling a dangerous narcotic to a 13-year-old female at 67530 U.S. 33, Goshen within 1,000 feet of a school.

• An anonymous caller reported potential drug use in the presence of children at 704 S. Hawthorne St., Bristol to Elkhart County police Tuesday at 6:56 p.m. An adult was found to be possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted in regards to the incident. Charges are being filed with the Elkhart County Prosecutors Office.
