Goshen man killed in crash in Cass County, Mich.

— A Goshen man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday near the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and North Shore Drive in Jefferson Township in Cass County, Mich.

The driver was identified as David M. Wenger, 52, Goshen, who was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash, according to Cass County police. The crash occurred at approximately 8:29 a.m. and is currently under investigation.

Wenger was traveling west when he failed to negotiate a curve near the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and North Shore Drive, leaving the roadway and striking a tree before coming to rest in a ravine. There was also heavy fog at the time of the collision, as well. A seatbelt was worn by the driver and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor at this time, according to Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr.
