THE GOSHEN NEWS

— An Elkhart man was injured Wednesday when his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

Elkhart County police said the collision occurred at 5:01 a.m. on C.R. 22. A 1989 Oldsmoblile 98 driven by Devon Watts, 47, Elkhart, was headed southwest when it drifted off the roadway on the northside of the road and collided with a pine tree.

Watts was transported to IU Goshen Hospital for chest pain, head injuries and vomiting. He was cited for not wearing the seat belt and given a warning for unsafe lane movement.

Theft/burglary reports

• Willie Johnson, 25089 C.R. 40, Goshen, told Elkhart County police Tuesday at approximately 4:30 p.m. someone entered his residence sometime in the last week and stole his Rough Rider .22 caliber pistol.

• Roman Pavlenko of Goshen, reported his cargo trailer was stolen from his property at 18596 C.R. 24, Goshen to Elkhart County police Monday at approximately 11:26 a.m. The theft occurred between 8 a.m. Oct. 22 through noon Oct. 24.

Assault/battery reports

• An employee of Elkhart County Community Corrections, 201 N. Cottage Ave., Goshen, told Elkhart County police of being pushed by a resident during a search at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. He sustained minor injuries to his face and arm.
