Shipshewana man killed in crash

SHIPSHEWANA — A 22-year-old Shipshewana man died in a traffic crash Friday evening at 1150 West and 250 North at 5:21 p.m. in LaGrange County.

Derek Lambright was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2002 Dodge Neon was hit by a 2005 Dodge pickup driven by Ali Warith, 32, Topeka.

According to LaGrange County police, Warith disregarded the stop sign at the intersection between Middlebury and Shipshewana. Warith and his 36-year-old passenger, Rashid Warith, were transported to Parkview Hospital for complaints of pain.

The crash is under investigation, police said.
