Woman killed in Toll Road crash



A 45-year-old woman died on the Indiana Toll Road Sunday around 2 a.m. after a crash at mile marker 48.3 in LaPorte County.

According to State Police, a van driven by Flias Serpas Juarez of Maryland was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times.

Two other passengers received severe hand and foot injuries and lacerations and two children were also injured.

Lindodra Cornjo Cadron, 45, address unknown, died in the crash.

The driver told police they were driving from Sacramento to Maryland.

Goshen police make OWI arrest



At approximately 2:13 a.m. Thursday, an officer with the Goshen Police Department stopped David W. Duttwyler, 45, 114 S. Seventh St., Goshen, near the intersection of Seventh and Jefferson streets. Duttwyler was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated and arrested.

Teen arrested on drug-related charge



At approximately 9:14 p.m. Thursday, an officer with the Goshen Police Department arrested Colton Bushong, 18, 324 S. Main St., Topeka, on a charge of possession of marijuana in the 1300 block of S. Ninth Street.

Collision leaves one person injured



At approximately 11:59 a.m. Saturday, Victoria Himes, 17, Elkhart, was westbound on C.R. 6 approaching Cobus Oaks Drive. According to a report from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, as Himes slowed to turn south on the road, her car was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Matthew J. Hammond, 16, Elkhart.

Himes was transported to the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital with a complaint of pain in her neck. A citation was issued to Hammond for following too closely.

Elderly woman injured in two-car crash



A 97-year-old woman suffered back pain and possible broken arm during a crash Saturday at C.R.s 3 and 46, two miles north of Nappanee at 6:19 p.m.

According to Elkhart County police, Charles Shaut, 59, Mishawaka, stopped for a stop sign at the intersection, then proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a vehicle driven by James L. Read, Bourbon.

Officers report Schaut fled the scene of the accident, but was stopped a short time later by officers from the Bremen Police Department. His passenger, Erma Schault, 97, Mishawaka, was taken to Bremen Hospital for treatment.

No cititaions were issued at that time, however the investigation is continuing, according to police.
