Woman injured

A Syracuse woman was hurt in a car-truck crash at U.S. 33 and C.R. 33 at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Alesha Griffith, 19, Syracuse, was driving a 1995 Mercury Sable north on C.R. 33, stopped at U.S. 33 and drove into the intersection, thinking the oncoming truck was turning south on the county road.

The truck, a 1999 Ford F-250 driven by Roger Metz, 66, Nashville, Mich., was headed east on the highway and struck the front of the Mercury.

Griffith had shoulder and head pain and a 3-month-old passenger, Alice Griffith, had a scratch on her face.
