Suspended license lands driver in jail



A Sturgis, Mich., driver was jailed after a traffic stop at 8 p.m. Saturday at Ind. 15 near C.R. 40.

According to a Goshen police report, Luis E.G. Guerrero, 24, 107 Hatch St., Sturgis, was stopped at Ind. 15 and C.R. 40 for disregarding a stop sign nearby. He was arrested for driving after his license had been suspended as a habitual traffic violator, a Class C felony. He was booked at the county jail.

DWI arrests



• Jose Lozano, 34, 544 Brookside Manor, was stopped for failing to yield the right of way at C.R. 17, north of Bashor Road, at 9 p.m. Saturday. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a Class D felony, and booked at the county jail.

• Mary Beth Mast, 35, 13174 C.R. 146, Goshen, was stopped at Ind. 19 and C.R. 4 at 1:15 a.m. Saturday. She was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. She was booked at the county jail with bond set at $1,500.

• Sarah R. Peacock, 25, 1004 Swan St., Goshen, was stopped at C.R. 4, east of C.R. 109, at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. She was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and booked at the county jail. Bond was set at $1,500.

• Gerry L. Simmons, 42, 51657 C.R. 109, Elkhart, was stopped at C.R. 17, north of C.R. 18, at 1:40 a.m. Saturday for reportedly driving left of center. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after refusing to submit to a blood-alcohol test. He was booked at the county jail. Bond was set at $3,000.
