Three arrested on

drug charges

Elkhart police arrested three people on drug charges Thursday after they received a tip about possible drug activity at a house on Princeton Street.

Police served a warrant at 11 a.m. Thursday at the house at 801 Princeton Street.

Arrested were Brandy Green, 28, 801 Princeton, for possession of marijuana and dealing crack cocaine; Harrison Harper, 35, Chicago, for possession of marijuana and dealing cocaine; and Lavar Moore, 31, Chicago, for dealing crack cocaine.

Police said they recovered drugs and money in the search.

The three were lodged in the county jail.



Traffic stop leads to arrest

Two people were jailed on several charges after a vehicle was stopped for a seat belt violation at Eighth and Jefferson streets at 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a patrolman stopped the car driven by Juan Carmona Gonzalez, 29, 1206 S. 13th St., Goshen, because a passenger was not wearing a seat belt. Gonzalez was arrested on charges of driving without a license and on the authority of a warrant. His passenger, Mary Carmona, 36, was arrested on a warrant, too. Both were lodged in the county jail.



Man arrested for suspended license

A traffic stop in Goshen Thursday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a driver.

According to a report by Goshen Ptl. Adam Storer, he stopped a vehicle driven by Cesar Perez-Marin, 26, 124 Silverwood Lane, at 10th and Jefferson streets at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.

Perez-Marin was arrested on a charge of driving while his license was suspended and on a warrant for a similar traffic charge. He was booked at the county jail.



Theft reports

• A Baugo Township resident reported a house burglary on Wednesday.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Rosemary Gresso, 28843 Driftwood Drive, Elkhart, said a large amount of jewelry was stolen from her home.

The burglary is under investigation.

• A rural Elkhart resident reported a home burglary to police at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Christel Mincey, 33, 57800 Ravenwood Blvd., Elkhart, reported late Wednesday that someone stole several electronic devices from her home.

An investigation is underway in the home burglary.

• Jewelry was stolen from a rural Elkhart home sometime this week.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Amy Strop, 36, 30609 C.R. 20, Elkhart, reported at 4:40 p.m. Thursday that someone stole jewelry and a shotgun from her home Thursday.

The incident is under investigation.

• An attempted burglary at a Goshen home was reported to city police Thursday morning.

According to a Goshen police report, Shana Westbrook, 307 Steury Ave., reported an attempted burglary at her home at 11 a.m. Thursday. The incident is under investigation.

• Jewelry was reported taken from a westside Goshen home this week.

According to a Goshen police report, Trent Ringler, 37, 402 S. Wheatland Drive, reported a valuable ring was taken from his home at noon Thursday.

The burglary is under investigation.
